Welcome to Breaker & Fuse

I'm Nick Mechler, the creator of Breaker & Fuse and an electrical engineer focused on power from Kansas City. I have a diverse background with experience including carbon capture, natural gas, biomass, wind, solar, battery energy storage, substations, H2 electrolysis, and more.

My goal, and the mission of Breaker & Fuse, is to teach others how to design high quality, safe electrical power systems. I want to create content that is technical, but not overwhelming, and understandable, but not oversimplified.

I studied electrical engineering at the University of Kansas, focusing on power systems. When I'm not thinking about electrical engineering and design, I like to spend time with my family, go on a run, read a book, cook, or play a round of disc golf!
